Don't ask for the number as soon as you meet the women. This shows too much interest too soon. Unless there is a rapport, there is a connection, that number is no good. Women give out numbers all the time. Unless you make good impression/connection/rapport, she won't feel the need to respond well when you call. Just think what is her motivation. Unless both of you are leaving the place right away, don't go for the number.
