If you show interest, or initiate the approach but act aloof when men approach you, many men might think you are manipulative, many men think this is rude, their ego hurts. If you want to find out if they are really into you, all you have to do is talk to them. If they are not interested, they don't approach. If you worry about appearing as a "whore", this actually does the opposite, it makes them think you are a whore. Most men don't get why you do this.
