The people/business who give away free stuff/ they think their products or themselves are not good enough to be accepted by people...so they give away free stuff or help to become popular. Because you are not improving yourself or your product, people will eventually leave you. If you or your product is good enough people will come to you. If you are good enough, people will come to you. You wouldn't have to go to them.
