When you say to many people "oh, this person looks real good", they automatically go like, "s/he doesn't look better than me!", even though they actually don't look as good as the person you are talking about.That is because they have an "imaginary self" that they dream to be which is better looking than the one that you are talking about.They feel sooner or later they can be as good looking as their "imaginary self".That is actually good because even if it's a delusion, it shows up in their body language, personality.
